Sustainable mind at sunset

My sustainable mind during sunset
is like a raging fire of the wild wild west.
Filled with ideas worth a million $ bet,
for wealth accrued in an angels closet.

Using the red skies as a green canvas
it creates mission statements, for a cause;
a vison to reach beyond the horizon
and, in mankind; it reimagines compassion

For clean air to breath as the outcome
it chooses personal value over income
In tandem, to elevate human potential
it fears not to sweat it's share of capital

As the vision gets wider it's canvas bigger
Liaisons join and alter the narrative together
In friends & family and neighbour
it seeks an, all weather, seed investor

"Is it an idea worth sharing?", it checks on TED
"Until proven, it's a just a story", TED said
It's matter of mindset and race against time
Proven it will be, when climate rings a chime

Beauty of compassion

Streets many he roamed, with
lens in hand; held with passion
Retreat home he did; tanned, with
heart in hand dipped in compassion

To bring those landscapes to life
he added color to the canvas
To see life in his portait still
in b&w he clicked one, as it was

In acts of life he zoomed & clicked
angles many, at times even twice
Facts of life, subtle but there!
beauty, he knew, lies in beholders eyes

Scanned them all in order & at ease
Stumbled, he did, upon a master piece
A pair of friends sharing a drink
Looks differed, but needs in sync

Friendship day it was,
weather sunny & clear
Inundate with it, many, i did
whether, near or dear

Streets many, in quest, we roam
Ears plugged & eyes sans emotion
Free them once and feel at home
Hear, see & live with compassion

Beauty of small things

You can also listen to this poem.

Admire, I do, the beauty
of small things
Inspire, they do, in plenty
till my heart sings

Colorful rangoli, spread outside
the front door of my neighbor
Wonderful and holy, she felt inside
when I lauded her artful labor

Tiny flower in that earthen pot
hardly in my line of sight
Shiny wonder it became on spot
when it fell in the line of sunlight

Sparrows many flapping like a dart
noticed only when I need
Sorrows any drowning, get wiped apart
when I throw them some feed

Incense sticks lit in a corner
felt only by its fragrance
Essence of it, if lavender
melt I do & ease into a light trance

Admire, I do, the beauty
of small things
Inspire, they do, in plenty
till my heart sings

Bread

Soft, crisp, round & square;
people eat bread
Depends, where they were
born and bred!

Relished with breakfast, lunch, dinner
or even as a starter
Getting a small piece of it, for some,
is still a big matter!

8000 CE, the grain was first crushed
battered and baked in an oven
Flat at first, from Egypt to the world
it evolved; the method was proven

French call it baguette, Egyptians as pitta,
Indian double roti and English as bread
What's in a name? When hunger strikes
humanity and hospitality must spread.

I wrote this poem on 27th April 2017. The trigger was the scene in front of me on the breakfast table by the window in StayAt Bromma overlooking the street leading to the Bromma train station. I was there on business trip and stayed there for 2 weeks. Breakfast was simple and had a continental spread and I loved the butter there!

The slice of bread and the salt and pepper dispensers in ghost form in front of me got me to think about the importance of bread in our life. I also became a fan of the Crisp bread and started googling for history of bread. I wanted to save this information for my future reference and wrote it in a format that I would like to read - Poem!
